It’s our Really Good Pup and favorite cookie-loving dog, Biscuit’s birthday, and we are
celebrating his first birthday with a special batch of homemade pumpkin biscuits, freshly
whipped up by me! Dogs are such special parts of our community, bringing joy and love
to everyone they meet. When I think about most of my baking adventures and time in
the kitchen, it's usually me and Biscuit, mixing and taste-testing every batch together
(followed by a thorough floor cleaning aka licking, thanks to Biscuit).
Biscuit has filled our lives with so much love, and today we celebrate him and all cookie-
loving creatures in our community. Here's to many more years of tail wags and tasty
treats, happy birthday, baby Biscuit!
Biscuit’s Pumpkin Biscuit Recipe
Preheat oven to 350. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper, set aside.
- 2 cups of rolled oats
- 1 cup of whole wheat flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup of pumpkin puree
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- 2 tbsp honey
- ½ tsp salt
In a large bowl, mix together eggs, cinnamon, pumpkin, salt and honey. Add in the oats and the whole wheat flour. Mix until combined. If dough is too stiff, add a bit of water.
Using a dough baller or two spoons, take a heaping spoon of dough and roll glob of dough with your hands into a ball. Flatten a bit with your hands until ball resembles a thick pancake.
Once dough is lined on baking sheet, taking a fork, softly add Bake the treats for 20-30 minutes or until the treats have stiffened in texture. The treats won’t brown much in color. Cool completely before storing or giving to you really good pup!
Storing: Since these treats are made with fresh ingredients, store them in the fridge for 5 days in an airtight container, or freeze in a zip bag for up to 3 months.
